About me

Where, oh where to begin?  Logic dictates that the beginning would be a good place to start, so here I go…

I have written since I was able to hold a crayon, at first not with an idea to share anything, finish a novel,  or even think about submitting anything to be published.  As the years have gone by and my life experiences grew, my writing has taken a turn toward more spiritual and/or uplifting short pieces which were inspired by my life’s events.  I started to share them more as I met people who I felt would benefit from my insight, or from a particular experience. This led to writing a couple of children’s books, which led to writing longer manuscripts, thrillers, mysteries, and eventually publishing my first book, The Footloose Killer (no longer in print).

Oh wait… back to the beginning…

I was born in Ohio, and adopted by gypsies who were cleverly disguised as Canadians, affording me the wonderful status of “Dual Citizen”.  They (we) traveled all over Canada, the US, and some of Mexico throughout my time with them.

Now I have filled many shoes in the literary world.

I am a literary agent, after working with and learning the business from Marisa Corvisiero, Esq. at the Corvisiero Literary Agency, I have founded Inklings Literary Agency.

I am an author. My second novel “Legacy” represented by Jamie Bodnar Drowley will be published by Spence City in September 2014.

I have just received the rights back to my first book, “The Footloose Killer,” I am working on the sequel, and have several other writing projects on the go.

I was an editor. Working with other authors coaching and collaborating is something at which I excelled, and I worked with both independent clients as well as a small, independent press and a small publishing house. As a literary agent, I no longer have time for that so I have packed that pair of shoes away.

I absolutely love attending and speaking at conferences, so if you would like to have me attend yours, please let me know!

“Gypsies from Canada”…That pretty well matches my memories of your childhood!!! 🙂

I still miss ya, and wish we’d had a chance to get together when you were living here in Calgary. But, as you said, you never stay still for very long, and my life was too damn hectic then!

Good luck with all your adventures! I’ll keep an eye on this & your facebook pages!

  2. Thank you Doug! I miss you too, and will always be happy to see anything from my favorite cousin here, on facebook, or anywhere!
PS… I have a story about Grandpa brewing… will send you a note when I post it 🙂

  3. I noticed that you are in Virginia Beach. The only association I have with that area is Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment… You also mentioned something about taking care of yourself physically and emotionally, so I wondered if you had ever heard of him or the Association. There’s some pretty cool stuff there. It’s on 67th street (if I remember correctly), right on the corner of one of the main streets (of which the name has slipped memory).

  4. Thought of you this morning when I read the news…Hoping that Earl passes you by. Victoria

    • Thank you Victoria, it looks hopeful that we will only have tropical storm winds and rain. It is eerily silent outside right now. The birds have stopped chirping, and the sky seems unnaturally dark. I have always loved the calm before the storm, but this time it is almost too calm. I will be sure to post if anything beyond a bad rain storm hits.
Thank you for your thoughts 🙂
